Kwalliya is a project that strives to document and preserve the history of facial and body markings.
In 2023, I received a grant from the National Geographic Society to fund the chapter of my project, Kwalliya. After months of working on the project, I put together an immersive art exhibition at the Department of Fine Arts at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna state.
The one-week exhibition gave people the opportunity to experience Kwalliya.
